Meet the Heroes: Dustin Clinkscales

August 04, 2015

A traffic stop for using a cellphone while driving turned into a heroic act of lifesaving for an Austin, TX police officer. On July 13, 2015 Officer Dustin Clinkscales stopped the motorist and approached the vehicle. He quickly learned that the woman in the vehicle was on the phone with 911 because she was choking! Officer Clinkscales performed the Heimlich maneuver on the woman, dislodging a piece of a chicken biscuit and saving her life. The entire event was recorded on Officer Clinkscales's dashcam. The woman feinted shortly after, and was treated and released from a local medical facility. Only after his life-saving act did he learn that he had saved the life of the daughter of fellow Austin Police Detective Duncan Dunn! Awesome!
