About the Course

Chief Jon Rogers joined the Summerville Police Department in 1999 as a patrolman after serving five years with the Isle of Palms Police Department. Previous positions within the S.P.D. include Criminal Investigations Division Commander, sergeant of criminal investigations, detective, patrol supervisor, professional standards officer and field training officer.
Chief Rogers is certified through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy as an instructor and has advanced training in homicide investigation and white collar crime. Chief Rogers is a graduate of the 238th session of the FBI National Academy.
Chief Rogers has advanced degrees in Criminal Justice from Trident Technical College, Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, and a masters degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. While at Southern Illinois University he was elected a member of Delta Epsilon lota College Honor Society and graduated Magna cum Laude.
